Publishing to the Web

My Slideshow — Full of Excitement and Promise

Let’s talk about about exciting things. Exciting things like trying to use DreamWeaver as an FTP client when we all know it’s pretty useless in that respect. Or the instructions for adding buttons being meant for ActionScript 2.0 when the actual slideshow instructions tell us to use ActionScript 3.0. Let’s talk about the ridiculously expensive, brand-spanking new, and screaming fast Apple Mac Pro desktops in the Tech Center that are bogged down by a firewall none of the people that work in the Tech Center actually understand. Finally, let’s talk about the journalism program at Temple and how I worked with more multimedia programs and learned more about using multimedia tools in “Publishing to the Web” than I did in my capstone, “Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab.”

I s’pose we could talk about the teachers in charge of that class being traditionalist, old-media ensconsed, print dinosaurs who love the sound of their own voice, but that’d be unfair, now wouldn’t it? They might not read it on the “world wide webs” (the kids are all about it these days!) and thus, couldn’t defend themselves.

Oh, right, and here’s a link to my slideshow. Nice shot, man.

  1. Whoa. Are you implying that MURL was completely useless and a waste of time? Preposterous! Insanity!
