Setting up a WordPress.com account

For this class, we will all need to have a free WordPress.com account.   The following are detailed instructions on how to set one up. 

 

 

1.  Go to   http://wordpress.com.   Find the link that says “Sign Up Now” .  It is a huge blue button at the moment. Tough to miss.

2. Choose a professional username and create a password on the next page. After agreeing to their End User License agreement you will be asked if you want to create a blog or a username. You MAY create a blog if you wish, however only a username is necessary as you will be added to the course blog.

 

You do not NEED to create a full blog at this time.

3. Check your email to complete the registration. Once you have recieved your confirmation email, and clicked the link to activate your account please email me at lentonc@gmail.com  with the subject line :

New Blog user {Your Name} 

Include in your email to me, the email address that you registered on the WordPress.com site.

At that time I will add you as an author to this blog.

Once you’ve done all this, you’ll get a confirmation from me, and from WordPress.com saying that you’ve been added to the blog. If you’ve got problems beyond this, contact me.
